How To Calm The F*ck Down: Earth, Air, Fire, Water

I’m not a doctor, just a girl that has anxiety and panic disorder. this is my opinion on what’s worked for me.

I’ve found that reconnecting with my senses can help me bring myself back to the present moment instead of the distance memory of the past or the wandering abyss of the future.

Here’s a grounding technique to use when you’re feeling anxious or upset or freaking out.


Earth, Air, Fire, Water

For Earth, press your feet strongly against the floor.

For Air, take a deep breath in then slowly exhale

For Fire, rub your hands together until you can feel the warmth.

For Water, take a sip of a drink or feel the moisture in your mouth or splash water on your face.

For dessert, have something tasty.


You got this. And so do I.
