We’ve been working on our front deck for ages and it’s finally done! Our front deck has been transformed into a second living room. This transformation is a few years in the making. Last year, my husband Gus redid the deck with new horizontal slats for a more modern look. This year, he finished painting and the labor, so it was my turn to design the space.
I wanted this space to be comfortable to spend our time outside in the summer and into the fall, with pieces that I could transition inside when the weather turns. Here’s what I had in mind when we started designing this space:
- Modern
- Light grey deck
- Black and white accessories with pops of color
- Loveseat or couch for lounging
- Several lightweight chairs that are comfy and easy to move
- A bold, outdoor rug
- A dog bed for Max
