True love is like the ocean. It’s smooth yet rocky and rough. it‘s loud as hell but calm and soothing. It’s treacherous and dangerous, yet full of the most beautiful sights. It evokes every emotion and creates new life. That kind of love is everything.
Tell Me About Your First Kiss
I’ve been thinking about writing about the beginning of my husband and I’s love story lately—the one where we met in college, moved away from each other for six months, then I packed up my car with my entire life just to see what would happen.
But I also want to write about other love stories too. imaginary love stories. my friends’ love stories. your love story. no happy endings necessary, because many love stories don’t involve an “end point” like marriage or kids—it can be a weekend fling that you still remember 10 years later or the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.
Love comes in all shapes and all sizes. Love is the best feeling in the world. Love is everything.
I want more love in this world. I want more love stories. I want to hear about your first kisses with the love of your life or the wild, completely serendipitous night you had with a stranger.
Then maybe, if you’re interested, I’ll share my love stories.
We met at a wedding. At the rehearsal dinner I moved the placement card With our names on them to make sure he sat in front of me. I asked the bride if I could. She said “sure!” She’s still one of my best friends after 30 years of friendship. My husband is literally the best man in the planet. I somehow knew this the moment my eyes met his. I also knew I would marry him. Moving the cards was a simple act. You must help control your destiny! I became very sick 9 years ago and was paralyzed. He was my everything through everything. Marry well and your life is always your glow. I may not be so smart with math, memorizing things, but I got the big one right. We have three successful children. And have been married now 25 happy years. Love is grand.
